I had the pleasure to attend the 50th meetup of Food Bloggers Association, Bangalore – FBAB at Tom Yum Thai, Indiranagar. The excitement of the event was justified by the authentic Thai food here.
The rooftop place is surrounded by subtle Thai art and is a wonderful place for casual dining with friends.
I started with the flavourful Chicken clear soup. To my delight, lots of mushrooms and chicken chunks in it was very soothing to my slightly sore throat and very pleasing to my palette.
I particularly loved the starters at the table. In vegetarian options, we had Tofu with cashew nuts, stir-fried vegetables and raw papaya salad with nuts. Tofu with cashew nuts was very delicious. I especially loved that Tofu didn’t taste like tofu at all and the sauce was a major help for that.
In non-vegetarian starters, we had chicken with basil leaves, stir fried prawns with garlic sauce and Sea bass fish fried with sweet chilli topping. I would recommend all three of these to people. Each having a different twist of their respective sauces and perfectly cooked.
In the main course, we had steamed rice with three kinds of gravies, all of a coconut milk base. Unfortunately, I am personally not a fan of coconut based gravies so I would refrain from commenting on the taste of main-course. However, one special item in main-course was prawn and squid dish

The perfect meal was ended by a special dessert called gadbad. Vanilla, strawberry and kesar ice cream with jelly and nuts, and oh so pretty looking.
The best thing about Tom Yum Thai was the authenticity of flavours. Thai cuisine is an acquired taste but I enjoyed my meal here
