To spend quality time with your favourite people, you need a place to set the right vibe and some really luscious food. Chavadi is one of those places.
Vibe of Chavadi
Bangalore is known and loved for its weather. Hence an outdoor rooftop seating, on most days, sets a perfect stage for a special meal, for which you are the audience. I came across one such perfect place recently. I fell in love with the aura of Chavadi at first sight. It is the kind of place where I want to spend time with my favourite people, my closest friends since ages, “my person” and a really good date.

This vibrant place has tastefully done interiors, very well thought out set up, and the surroundings contribute their charm to it. They have an organic garden setup as well, the produce from this organic garden is used in the kitchen. First of many more visits to come was bloggers table, a sundowner party, which a very beautiful and a memorable evening.
Bangalore is accused of having restaurants with good ambience and average food, which is especially where the Chavadi stands apart. The restaurant is not only blissful to be at, but the accompanying food and cocktails are delicious.
Cocktails
We started with some really delicious and innovative cocktails. My favourite cocktails from here are the jalapeno martini, tamarind martini and guava chilli margarita. These unconventional drinks were a lovely thing to have as we watched the sunset.
Vegetarian appetizers
We started with a veg platter, which had quite a variety. Almost everything, especially the jalapeno corn and cheese balls were delicious. I also fancied button mushroom frito from the vegetarian section. Peanut masala had a twist to it, and good thing to have along with some hard drinks.
Non Vegetarian appetizers
I became a fan of fish cakes with lemon butter sauce. The pan-fried fish cakes were very flavourful. The lemon butter sauce was divine and was happily married to the fish cakes. I love fried squid rings, more popularly known as calamari. They were brilliantly executed here. I also enjoyed the sesame and chilli fish. The fish was marinated in South Indian spices, sesame and grilled, it was oozing flavours. The prawn tempura was deep fried prawns in tempura batter, served with wasabi and prawn crackers. A wow dish for prawn lovers.
Lagan ki boti blew me away, with tender lamb cooked in Indian spices and served on a khasta paratha. I didn’t fancy herb crusted chicken. Although the flavours were spot on, the dish was slightly dry.
Main Course
There wasn’t much space in my stomach after so many starters, but you get tired watching the sunset. So I rolled with vegetable overloaded pizza which was generously loaded with toppings and is a good main course to enjoy. The star main course was the pasta in white sauce with extra cheese. The cheesiness can hardly be matched by any of my recent dates.
Desserts
Moving to the mandatory part of the meal for my other stomach, the desserts. We had a red wine kulfi which was very lovely with good lasting flavours. I was a bit disappointed with the tiramisu, it was not properly set, so I couldn’t enjoy it as much.
