Live grills are an exciting dining option. The trend of live grills is not a new concept around here, but any new addition to the family is always welcomed with open arms or mouths.. whatever suits. I recently went to Barbecoa for lunch and I was pleasantly delighted by the food and service over here.
The place is quite open, the interiors are pleasant and seating capacity is quite a lot to accommodate bigger groups and celebrations as well. Each set of 4 individuals have a live grill which is very carefully handled by the staff here.
Appetizer
There were 6 vegetarian and 6 non-vegetarian options on the grill. The prawns, fish, paneer and mushrooms were exceptionally good. I was quite surprised to see crab on the grill, which was beautifully marinated.
We were served a lot of other starters as well. Some of the impressive ones were jerk chicken with baked froth, which was deliciously cooked. Double fried chicken sausage and mutton badami sheekh kebab were some other delectable options. Flaming kalmi kebab was quite dramatic in the way it was served, but I was quite drunk on other starters to actually try this alcohol flamed chicken.
Main Course
The main course had quite a spread, but who eats the main course in buffets, right? Yeah, I do the same. But you can probably try a few things here. I really liked the murgh Diwani handi, railway mutton curry and dal makhani here. And of course, there was mutton biryani which was delectable.
Desserts
Now we are talking! I know we all want to just skip to desserts. I loved the dessert spread here. Especially, honey cake and tiramisu. The most interesting part was the live ice cream counter. The cold stone ice creams were made on demand with custom ingredients. Sounds exciting, right?
In conclusion
My verdict is that barbecoa is a lovely dining option. The place is tasteful, the food is delicious and the service is commendable. And the best part is that it is all very economical.
My rating: 4.5!
